Description:  Colorless, odorless, stable, oily liquid with a very aromatic odor, and miscible with common organic solvents; combustible; it reacts violently with chloride.

Derivative:  As natural organic acid, dl-malic acid exists in various fruits and vegetables, giving fresh acidic taste.

Uses:  Dibutyl Phthalate is used in the U.S. for plasticizers, cosmetics, safety glass, floor polish, nail polish, insecticides, printing inks, paper coatings, adhesives, elastomers and explosives. It is also used as a solvent in dental impressions materials, perfume oils, perfume fixative, textile lubricating agent and solid rocket propellants.
